Top Reasons to Stay on Weekdays
Camping on weekdays offers many advantages, making it worth adjusting your schedule if possible. One unexpected benefit of the pandemic era is the flexibility it brought to work schedules.
What once required using vacation days might now look like working remotely while camping. With many campgrounds offering Wi-Fi or the ability to use your phone as a hotspot, weekday camping has never been easier.
Enjoy More Privacy
Campgrounds are typically less crowded during the week, giving you fewer neighbors and a more peaceful environment. A helpful tip: at check-in, ask if your site is surrounded by others. Often, you can relocate to a quieter spot.
However, remember to keep all belongings within your site, as sites can book at any time. While playing tag on an empty site is fine, setting up equipment or using another site’s picnic table is not.
More Amenities, Fewer Crowds
Fewer campers mean more space for you—whether it’s the pool, mini-golf, or other activities. Weekday camping offers a quieter, more relaxing experience.
To ensure a smooth trip, check your campground’s schedule for activity and amenity hours, as these can vary by season and park.
Save Money
Weekday rates are often significantly lower than weekend rates—sometimes up to 30% less. A two-night weekend stay could translate into three nights midweek!
Keep in mind that peak times, like July 4th or other holidays, may still see higher rates and more visitors, so always check availability and special events when booking.
Make Money
OK, so you’re not camping to “make money.” But working remotely at the campground sure beats sitting in a home office (especially at our park, where we’ve upgraded our Wi-Fi and made it free).
When you camp on a weekday, fewer people and more privacy mean greater productivity if you have work to do. And when you finish up, you’ll have a much better chance of getting primo access to all the campground amenities.
