There are countless reasons to love summer camping, but it’s easy to overlook the fantastic opportunities spring camping offers. By May, my kids (and I) are more than ready to escape the house and take a break from school routines. Plus, it’s an excellent dry run for the camping season ahead.

Spring is one of the most budget-friendly times to camp, especially in the Midwest. With fewer guests, you often get your pick of sites, and the rates haven’t yet reached their summer premiums. Guests love the great deals on cabins, and it’s not uncommon to see those staying on campsites treat themselves to a glamping cabin for a change of pace.
