As developments related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continue to emerge we are prepared to take the appropriate steps needed to serve our camping community, both in the short term and long term.
Fortunately, the virus has had very limited presence here in Wisconsin and while outdoor open space environments like campgrounds are low risk we wanted our guests to know we’re taking proactive steps this season to help ensure you have a great family camping experience.
Our team will sanitize common-touch hard surfaces in bathhouses with a CDC-recommended antiviral cleaning agent that is effective against the seasonal flu as well as the coronavirus. Out of an abundance of caution we’re also adding bi-weekly sanitizing treatments to our playgrounds and rental equipment.
Additionally, we’ll have portable sanitizing stations at each playground and near the pool.
We ask everyone to continue to take proactive precautions as recommended by public health authorities to prevent the spread of the virus. Because the coronavirus, in addition to influenza, is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing by infected people, it is important to take the following actions to stay healthy:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes. Throw tissues out promptly.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects.
These simple steps are great reminders and we encourage everyone to follow them. We respect and understand that this evolving public health situation impacts different people and families in a variety of ways.
Please note that some guests have asked us whether or not our swimming pool will remain open and it will as the CDC website states that “there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools “ and that “proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (with cholrine and bromine) of pools should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19” and our pool meets or exceeds all local operation and maintenance standards. Please remember, our water activities DO NOT OPEN until May 22, 2020.
For reservations from May 1 – 20, we are amending our cancellation policy to 7 days prior to arrival for site and cabin rentals.
We will continue to monitor the situation on a day to day basis as needed.
Please let us know if you have any specific concerns or questions and we will do our best to address them.
We look forward to seeing you this summer!
